From 2000-2003 I sailed one-handed on PASEO (11.5m custom made catamaran) from Kiel/Germany to Brisbane/Australia.
Since 1991 I’m running an engineering office. Amongst others I’m working in the product development for BAVARIA Yachtbau GmbH.

From 2008 until 2012 I have manufactured my 18m by 10m cruising catamaran WaveScalpel according my own design.
History:
Grace to my father’s boat business I started sailing at the age of 10. I did some competitions on different boats. My favorite was the DART catamaran. To improve my pocket money, I helped my father after school.
I did services and repairs on outboard motors
The water testing of the motor boats was great fun, due to the water skiing side effect.
Other common tasks were:
equipping small crafts according the customer demands with instruments, engines, …..
rigging and setting the sails of small sailing boats and yachts.
Later I finished my apprenticeship as car mechanic with special award. In my job and in the army I learned welding and did several welding trainings for the different welding techniques. Therefore I’m familiar with: point welding, gas welding, WIG and MAG. I studied precision mechanics in Kiel/Germany, where I got in contact with several very good ship building engineers. As an engineer I had been involved in a great variety of projects and got therefore practical and theoretical knowledge of nearly all topics related to industrial projects and products. I have 17 years intensive 3D CAD experience especially with the CAD system SolidWorks (certified SolidWorks associate and professional, certified SolidWorks sheet metal specialist).
